Composition:
This oil is composed of 1/5 monounsaturated fatty acids (omega-9) and more than half of the polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-6, or 20% gamma linolenic acid, are "excellent" omega-6). Gamma-linolenic acid is a fatty acid that we urgently need (in our diet) rather than being naturally synthesized by our body. This fatty acid is essential for immune, anti-infective and anti-allergic protection. It plays an important role in moisturizing and supple skin. Borage oil is also composed of 1/5 saturated fatty acids, antioxidant phytosterols and vitamin E.
